Our department is on a journey to become the most improving education system in Australia and is committed to a strong and equitable public education system where every child has the opportunity to engage, grow and achieve.

We know student engagement, wellbeing and inclusion is crucial to educational success, which is why our approach is driven by 3 key strategies:

In the Northern Territory, children begin their education journey with a rich foundation of knowledge systems, cultural values and ways of learning that are shaped by their families and communities.

In recognition of this, we are developing an education system that reflects the cultural, social and linguistic diversity of our learners and provides appropriate wellbeing and inclusion supports.

For this to be realised, we are:

• embedding wellbeing and inclusion into school improvement planning and leadership development
• supporting and upskilling educators to deliver an engaging and inclusive curriculum that benefits the greatest number of students, reducing the need for targeted interventions
• creating safe and welcoming learning environments that are ready for children, instead of requiring children to be ready for school
• teaching supportive and respectful relationships
• motivating and inspiring students to see value in their education.

In doing so, we empower students to embrace their unique strengths and overcome challenges, ultimately paving the way for a brighter future.

Our work is underpinned by best-practice, evidence-based strategies from the Northern Territory, Australia and abroad. This includes collaborative and multidisciplinary approaches to engagement, inclusion and wellbeing.

CaptionConnect enhances accessibility for individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing, or may face cognitive obstacles thereby, improving the overall experience and providing them with a solution to enable equality in learning outcomes.

It ensures compliance with accessibility laws, aids comprehension for those with language barriers or noisy environments and facilitates real-time access for EAL students.

CaptionConnect offers live Translation in over 140 languages and dialects with virtual meeting integration to make every class or meeting accessible to all.

The software has not only improved comprehension but also empowered students, creating an inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia)

Aspect (Autism Spectrum Australia) is Australia’s largest autism-specific service provider, with one of the biggest autism-specific school programs in the world. A not-for-profit organisation, we work in partnership with people of all ages on the autism spectrum, and their families to deliver evidence-informed solutions that are person-centred, family-focused and customer driven.

Aspect proudly has over 50 years experience in providing autism specific schooling in Australia.

Scanning Pens Australia

The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian Government-funded initiative that supports global volunteering as a people-centred approach to capacity development.

We support partner organisations operating across 25 countries to achieve locally-led change by matching our partners with skilled Australian volunteers who can support them to reach their goals.

Volunteer assignments can be in-country or remote and range from three months to two years. As a volunteer, you’ll be supported with living, accommodation, and language training so you can focus on your assignment.

SRA Information Technology

SRA Information Technology is a leading software services organisation, specialising in developing custom software solutions to solve unique business problems within the Government and Private sectors. SRA has been working closely with Catholic Education NT to develop the latest version of Inspire, a software system that enables schools to improve the learning outcomes of students with additional learning needs.
