Context, Culture and Collaboration - Creating a Community
This online workshop facilitated by Professor Jioji Ravulo will actively engage educators and educational leaders in exploring ways to develop and nurture inclusive learning communities where diversity and its differences are recognised and valued. Through learning and interacting with this passionate, dynamic presenter, participants will explore a range of practical strategies to assist their learning communities to reflect, plan and apply practices with cultural humility through authentic engagement and collaboration.
The online workshop will include:
- A 30 minute keynote with a 60 minute call for action interactive workshop
Pre-sessional opportunity to send questions to Jioji- Q & A time during the session
- Group discussions
- Post workshop recording of keynote to support further discussion and application back at your site
Professor Jioji Ravulo is the Professor & Chair of Social Work and Policy Studies in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work at The University of Sydney. Recently celebrated as Australia’s first person of Pasifika heritage to become a Professor at an Australian university, Jioji is passionate about creating and implementing social work educational and research approaches that are engaging and engaged. Nuanced with a genuine commitment to the dynamic inclusion of cultural diversity and its differences, Jioji is super keen to create collaborative spaces for students, community groups and industry partners. Jioji is involved in various community-based research and co-design initiatives, including projects that support health literacies across equity groups, enhancing service delivery models for young people and their families, promoting the inclusion of diversity in educational settings and promoting the meaningful inclusion of indigenous perspectives and practices.
