VIC: President's Research Seminar
Topic: Educating in a globalising world: What do Australian school leaders need to know and do?
The face of Australian schools is changing – at least a third of Australians now have one parent born overseas and more than a quarter of students speak a language other than English at home. Australia is firmly plugged into a globalising economy and our students will need transcultural and linguistic skills and understandings to succeed and prosper in this changing world.
Speakers include:
- Professor Fazal Rizvi - Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne
- Annette Rome - Principal, St Margaret’s and Berwick Grammar School
- Dr Niranjan Casinader - Faculty of Education, Monash University
- Olivia Jones - Monash University student third-year Law (Honours)/Global Studies and Diploma of Languages (Chinese)
