In Dialogue: Beware of Fake News

In Dialogue: Beware of Fake News

The Australian Council for Educational Leaders’ (ACELQ ) partnership with the Science of Learning Research Centre (SLRC) at the University of Queensland brings together educators and researchers. Our common aim is to explore research and evidence and the implications of these for teaching, leading and learning. To conclude our seminar series for 2019, we are pleased to announce the final in a series of ‘In dialogue’ sessions.

SEMINAR TITLE: Beware of Fake News! The science behind some common questions about learning in the classroom

Does listening to music whilst studying impair learning?

Do ‘brain breaks’ help students learn?

Are teenagers better at multi-tasking than their teachers?

This final seminar for 2019 will answer these questions and more, and will unpack some of the science behind the answers. It will explore the fundamentals of some key learning principles from the science of learning relating to some of these common questions, and will workshop with participant’s ways in which these principles might apply to everyday practice in the classroom.
