WA Awards event report

On Thursday 19th May, the ACEL WA Branch welcomed over 85 educational leaders and their guests from across the region for an evening of celebration at the ACEL WA Awards evening.

ACEL WA Branch President Keith Newton officially opened the ceremony, followed by the Hon. Peter Collier MLC, Minister for Education, Aboriginal & Electoral Affairs, who reiterated the wonderful work that our educators do in the schools and wider community. He also recognised the work of ACEL and how it presents a platform for inspirational educators to be acknowledged for their commitment.

The WA Branch Executive carefully selected the awardees for their efforts and the impact they have on education across WA. The ceremony is held in honour to recognise their contributions and what makes them passionate, influential and bold leaders of WA. The awardees were truly appreciative of their recognition and indeed honoured to be selected.

The President called upon each awardee and briefly cited their contributions to the education fraternity while the Minister handed the awardees their certificates and expressed his gratitude for their efforts.

We would like to once again congratulate all our 2016 WA Award Recipients. The awards were a timely showcase of Educational Leadership across WA which highlights the excellence in our profession. This awards evening is a testament to the growing influence and importance of ACEL in WA.
