SA Hot Topic: Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality and Cognitive Load in the Classroom

Cognitive Load Theory (CLT) guides us in designing effective instructional methods based on how the human brain works. The presentation explores how information moves from working memory to long-term memory, considering a learner's cognitive load. We also discuss the potential of augmented reality (AR) to reduce cognitive load and enhance student learning. We'll share the results of a study conducted in a science classroom, which showed that students using AR based on CLT outperformed those who didn't.
