EVAN SAVAGE

Evan Savage is the ‘foundation Principal’ of Armstrong Creek School which is now in its 6th year of operation. Armstrong Creek School is a pioneering school that caters for students of all abilities and backgrounds. The school sees its primary responsibility to be responsive to the individual learning needs of every child, adapting teaching and learning experiences and approaches to ensure that all children are appropriately challenged and supported to achieve success in their learning.

Having gained various insights and experiences into the many and varied schooling models that exist in Victoria; leading change and the development of a more inclusive education system have become his passion.

Evan’s career has seen him working and leading in both primary, P-12 and special education school environments, providing him with a unique understanding to the barriers to truly ‘inclusive education’.

He is currently a representative on multiple State level committees including the Department of Education’s Inclusive Education Expert Panel and the Autism Education Advisory Group, as well various other advisory roles in the realm of Education.

In 2021, Evan and his team at Armstrong Creek School were dual award winners at the Victorian Education Excellence Awards, taking out the Most Outstanding Inclusive Education category and the overall Lindsay Thompson Award.

Currently Evan is on secondment with the Inclusive Education Professional Practice (IEPP) branch with the Department of Education, Victoria, providing advice and guidance across various state reforms and initiatives.
