Next up for the ACEL WA Book Club is The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, a thought-provoking read that is sparking important conversations around childhood, technology, wellbeing, and learning across the world.
As educators, we see firsthand the changing landscape young people are growing up in. This book challenges us to reflect on the impact of smartphones, social media, play, connection, and schooling on children’s development and mental health, and to consider what this means for the environments we create in our classrooms, schools, and communities.
Join us as we come together to discuss the ideas, questions, and implications raised in this timely book, and explore how we can continue to support young people to thrive in an increasingly complex world.
