ACEL Fellows Receive Top Honours

ACEL Fellows have received awards of excellence at the 2014 WA Education Awards.

Ray Boyd was named Primary Leader of the Year for transforming West Beechboro Primary school’s academic results from “under performing” to above average, and for lifting its standing in the community and students’ behaviour.

Jacqui Quartermaine is principal of Rangeway Primary School in Geraldton. Rangeway PS is the first school to be awarded the new WA Premier’s Excellence in Aboriginal Education Award.

“It’s gratifying to know that our Fellows are working hard to ensure schools are outstanding places for students, and that due recognition comes their way with awards such as these,” said ACEL WA President, Keith Newton.

Both Ray Boyd and Jacqui Quartermaine received ACEL Fellowships at National Level in 2014.

ACEL Fellowship is a special category of membership awarded annually to members who have made an outstanding contribution over a period of time to the improvement of student and organisational outcomes.
