In each of the schools where I have been principal, I have worked hard to improve school culture, staff cohesion, student outcomes and specific aspects of the school’s programs, facilities or strategic vision. Having worked in both newly-established schools as well as traditional and long-established schools, both day and boarding - and single sex as well as co-educational - I believe that I have a broad understanding of different school cultures, expectations and challenges faced by the principal. My most impactful improvements as principal would relate to facilities overhaul, curriculum re-design, student wellbeing and sense of belonging (including the introduction of a new uniform at a highly traditional school), introduction of Arts-related events and learning experiences and the effective steering of a rapidly-developing school culture at a new independent school where I was foundation principal.
