Location Thebarton, SA

As a forward thinking, relevant and responsive educator, I have comprehensive experience and qualifications in teaching and leadership with a strong background in educational theory and practice. I have led several capacity building and professional learning experiences with a focus on Continuous Improvement, Catholic Identity, Strong Leadership, High Quality Teaching and Learning and Effective Use of Data.

The New Voice Scholarship recognises educators who are forward-thinking educational leaders who share new learning and thought. A focus of my educational leadership in recent years has been in the area of ecological and global education and it is this work in particular that I would love to share with the wider educational community. It is through this leadership that I was recognised at a state and national level by the Australian Council for Educational Leaders with the awarding of an Educational Leaders Learning Award and Keith Tronc Award for outstanding teacher leadership.

As a Lead Learning Consultant with the Catholic Education Office of South Australia, I focus on building leadership capability and capacity within schools through a networked approach. It is in this role that I co-facilitate many networked learning initiatives which focus on effective pedagogies and capabilities. As Co-Founder and Director of Little Earthies, I work with a large number of schools to to implement ecologically sustainable practices and principles in all aspects of school, home and community life. In this work, I empower individuals and groups to have positive impacts on the environment and to make a world of difference at their local levels. I include as many people as possible to build capacity in the care of our natural resources and in sustainable productivity. I share inspiration and imagination to help all people to connect with our natural world with an emphasis on families, children, nature and outdoor adventures.

I am a member of the global team at the Pop-Up Foundation, a non-for-profit international enterprise that drives educational culture change within schools and systems in the area of ecological sustainability. Pop-Up Foundation is an ecological enterprise which addresses the central challenge of our time: decoupling human progress from resource use and environmental decline. I bring ideas and practical action for sustainable living to people in a coherent, accessible form, focused on practical action.
