Bio
Mark is an experienced educator and has taught in state and independent schools as well as in a research intensive university in Perth (UWA). His passions and expertise include international education, global trends and issues in education, and history (with particular interests in The Great War and maritime history).

His recent research on the internationalisation of education in Australian schooling has won a number of research awards including a Fogarty Foundation award and a prize for the "most outstanding postgraduate thesis on a topic relating to international education" presented by the International Education Association of Australia (IEAA). He has a number of publications in these areas and has been a keynote presenter on these and other fields, most recently at a Global Education forum in the Gold Coast, Queensland.

He currently lectures in the Graduate School of Education at The University of Western Australia and is Director of Global Programs at St Stephen’s School where his focus is on growing the school as a global enabler of opportunity and excellence in education.

His passions are travel, reading, writing and enjoying dinner out with family and friends.
