Bio
Lisa Dempsey is a Behaviour Support Partner in the Network Student Engagement Team in the ACT. Part of her role as a BSP focuses on building capacity, within P-12 ACT government schools. She has recently completed her Master of Education and was the recipient of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders Masters Prize. Prior to this she had eight years experience teaching and leading at a Catholic yr 4-12 single sex school, where she taught; psychology, sociology and general science. Lisa has a professional focus on mental health and well-being, and has been instrumental in conceptualising, implementing, and engaging the school community in new initiatives that embed a focus on mental health and wellbeing in the school culture. She has presented at several national and international conferences on boys’ education, animal-assisted programs in school-based settings, and student engagement and wellbeing. Lisa has had a paper published and featured in the International Technology Education and Development journal (INTED).
