Middle leaders lead the vital teams and projects that make learning happen in schools. This, and their strategic location between executive leadership and core business, means they are key influencers. They 'play a pivotal role in securing better learning outcomes for students, resulting from their direct and positive influence on teachers' classroom practice' (Harris and Jones 2017).

Join Australian Council for Educational Leaders members, guest speaker Stacie Hansel, Deputies, Heads of Department, Heads of Special Education Services, Heads of Curriculum & Educators from across the sectors to explore the career potential of influencing change in your current role.

Meet other educators who are leading school improvement from across education sectors (primary, secondary, government, Catholic, independent) and share your stories of leading from the middle. Learn how ACEL can help your career and educational leadership.

Stacie will share her observations and lessons learned during a twenty-five year career of relationship building across the teaching profession. She will highlight the career potential of leading from the middle in a range of school and system contexts. Stacie's insights will help all middle leaders navigate the challenging role of leader of school improvement and educator.
