Processing 2020 and recalibrating for 2021:
practical steps for schools leaders and teams

with Kristen Douglas

The Australian Council for Educational Leaders presents Kristen Douglas, National Manager and Head of headspace in Schools, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.

Built on principles of recovery and reflection this webinar is aimed at providing school leaders with practical strategies for leading through complex events and experiences to:

  • Process experiences and create a healthy helpful narrative going forward
  • Offset stress before the end of the year so you can start 2021 with a new vista
  • Punctuate this experience and recalibrate from a clean space

As we lean into the final stages of 2020 it’s important for teams to undertake some practical steps and processes to help teams punctuate 2020 in a strengths based, positive, and considered way. When school communities have been impacted by an event, be it short term or prolonged, it’s important to go through an articulated and guided stage of processing.

This means processing the experience, processing the impact, processing the disruption, and ensuring we celebrated the gains and achievements.

This allows teams and more importantly individuals to recalibrate, re-energise, re-balance, and refocus on the future.
