The Australian Council for Educational Leaders are very proud to present Lyn Sharratt as she returns in 2021 with a NEW three-part webinar series..

Leading teaching and learning is a social process. If ‘everyone’s a leader’, then we are each responsible to communicate what learning looks like, what evidence of success looks like, and how to accountably document then share the keys to practices that are making a difference for us.

During these three Webinars, Lyn will explore leader, teacher and student voice, actions and work samples resulting from the impact of shared positive cultures. These will demonstrate the ‘precision-in-practice’ that empowers practitioners and students to own their own learning and maximise their potential. In each session, case studies, videos and photos of real practitioners-at-work will guide our interactive conversations, our thinking and commitment to taking ‘Next Step Actions’ with our colleagues.

In these Webinars, you will:

• Consider the importance of relationship-building and establishing trust
• Understand the progression of school improvement work that is aligned with SIP, NSIT
• Unpack your data to know the FACES and take action to ensure growth and achievement
• Examine your system’s and school’s work to improve students’ growth and achievement
• Confront what isn’t working and build on what is working to develop ‘collective efficacy’
• Self-assess where your ‘next best learning move’ is
• Promote the thinking that ‘everyone’s a leader’ in the system and school improvement work
• Know the ‘look-fors’ to embed a culture of learning to improve practice and elevate students’ learning
• Reflect on related lessons from COVID19

Lyn Sharratt

Dr. Lyn Sharratt is a highly-accomplished practitioner, researcher, author, and presenter. Lyn has a BA in Social Work from The University of Waterloo, Canada; a B. Ed in Teaching, K-10, from The University of Western Ontario, Canada; an M. Ed. In Educational Administration from Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, Canada; and an Ed. D. in Theory and Policy Studies from University of Toronto, Canada. She coordinates the doctoral internship program in Leadership, Higher and Adult Education Department at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Lyn has worked in four school districts across Ontario as a superintendent of curriculum and instruction, school improvement superintendent, administrator, curriculum leader, and a regular and special education teacher. Lyn has taught all elementary grades and secondary-aged students in inner-city and rural settings. She has analyzed and commented on public policy for a provincial trustee organization, the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association; has taught pre-service education at York University, Masters’ and Doctoral students at University of Toronto and Nipissing University; and led Professional Development in a provincial teachers’ union head office. Lyn is a widely-published researcher and author. She is lead author, with Michael Fullan, of Realization: The Change Imperative for Increasing District-Wide Reform (Corwin, 2009) and of Putting FACES on the Data: What Great Leaders Do! (Corwin, 2012, published in English, Spanish and Arabic). Lyn is lead author of Good to Great to Innovate: Recalculating the Route K-12, (Corwin, 2015) with Gale Harild, and of Leading Collaborative Learning: Empowering Excellence (Corwin, 2016) with Beate Planche. CLARITY: What Matters MOST in Learning, Teaching and Leading (Corwin, 2019) is her fifth book that distills her work across the globe from 2009-2019.

As well as an author and practitioner working in remote and urban settings world-wide, Lyn sits on the Expert Evaluation Committee for System and School Improvement, Melbourne Graduate School of Education, Australia; is an advisor for International School Leadership with the Ontario Principals’ Council; is an Author Consultant for Corwin Publishing, USA; and consults internationally, working with system, school and teacher leaders at all levels in Australia, Canada, Chile, the United Kingdom and the United States. She works tirelessly, focusing her time and efforts on increasing each student’s achievement by working alongside leaders and teachers to put FACES on their data and take intentional action.
