IMPORTANT UPDATE: ACEL 2021 Conference NEW Format, only 40 Days to go!

19/08/2021

Due to the uncertainties surrounding lockdowns across the country, we have decided to move the National Conference online. It comes with a sense of collective relief to be able to provide everyone involved in our flagship conference, from speakers to delegates, with the certainty they will be able to participate this year.

The disruption that has occurred over the past 18 months cannot go unacknowledged. Our conference remains an important forum for members and non-members alike to come together to recognise and celebrate the achievements of teachers, and school and system leaders, who have provided exemplary leadership to our  children and young people during these recent challenging times.

On the back of our highly successful ACEL Global Online Conference 2020, we are looking forward to once again providing you with a world-class professional learning event. The 2020 conference engaged close to 4000 education professionals around the globe and gave us the perfect template from which to work. We do have some exciting additions this year, with state-based hub activities being available in locations where it is possible for people to gather. These will be an outstanding opportunity to not only hear and participate in the conference but also to network, dialogue and reflect with peers and colleagues. Registrations for these events will open in early September.

We have once again partnered with CrowdComms to provide you with a user-friendly online interface that allows you to connect with others online, access video on demand for those sessions you may have missed, take notes and many more exciting features to keep you engaged over the 2 days of the conference. You will be able to share your ideas , thoughts and photos with others through the platform as well as access presenter materials (upon approval by the presenter).

Our host Maxine McKew and conference provocateur Adam Voigt are enthusiastically planning to ensure that there is a connection between delegates, speakers and themes throughout the conference.  And, importantly, that the 2021 conference is a memorable professional learning event for all participants.

Registration to the ACEL 2021 Online Conference includes access to all sessions post-conference for a period of six months which ensures that you and your team can use this professional learning and the provocations from the conference as part of your wider team’s ongoing reflection, dialogue, decision making and action.

There is still opportunity to register and we are truly looking forward to connecting with you as part of our ACEL 2021 Online Conference. We are very excited to be  bringing an exceptional and diverse group of speakers to you and it will be a  privilege to learn with and alongside you during the course of this much anticipated event. Come and join us.

Steve Munby will be joining us in October and November for a series of three webinars focusing on Imperfect Leadership. This follows on from Steve’s 2019 book “Imperfect Leadership – A book for leaders who know they don’t know it all”.

The webinars will focus on the idea that leaders as experts in every facet of leadership is unrealistic and explore the principles of imperfect leadership. As teachers and leaders improve their practice by “doing”, Steve will reveal what leaders can do to ensure a culture of development and how, at school level, everyone is improving their practice.
