QLD Pivotal People - International Women’s Day Celebration
Title: International Women’s Day Celebration
How can Women Support other Women to Thrive as Educational Leaders?
‘Women often take it upon themselves to be empowered and to move forward. Men tend to rely on others to promote them.’
Celebrate International Women’s Day. Start a conversation about how women can support other women to succeed as educational leaders. Hear from accomplished females in education and connect with inspired middle leaders.
The following questions will be explored:
- What is the state of play for women in educational leadership in QLD and on the Gold Coast?
- What are the challenges women in middle leadership encounter in shaping the career they desire?
- What can we do to champion the women around us to succeed as educational leaders?
Over the course of 2 hours, we will share a meal, exchange stories, discuss ideas and make recommendations about how we can champion ourselves and other women to succeed as educational leaders.
Guest Speaker - Stacey Hansel A/Assistant Director General State Schools Performance at Department of Education & Associate Professor Jill Willis, Faculty of Education, School of Teacher Education and Leadership and ACELQ Miller-Grassie Award for Outstanding Leadership.
