Future School
with Valerie Hannon

With the publication of FutureSchool, which expands on her Australian Learning Lecture, Valerie has set out a framework for any and every school to explore its fitness for the future; build on its strengths in this space and identify its opportunities for development. In this webinar, she will be digging deeper into the design principles that underpin a future-focused school; and will set out the basis on which schools might work together to develop their agenda for change, even within the well-known constraints they face.

Valerie Hannon

Valerie Hannon is a global thought leader, inspiring systems to re-think what ‘success’ will mean in the 21st, and the implications for education. The co-founder of both Innovation Unit and of the Global Education Leaders Partnership, Valerie is a radical voice for change, whilst grounded in a deep understanding of how education systems currently work.

After a distinguished career within education, Valerie now works independently to support change programs across the world. She has advised governments and worked with systems and schools on every continent, working with some of the most challenged as well as the leaders in education innovation.

Valerie advised the OECD on its Education 2030 project. She is a regular keynote speaker and facilitator at international conferences and workshops, drawing upon her substantial research and publications, including:

Following a series of global webinars on leadership in 2021, Valerie published The Future of Educational Leadership: five signposts with Tony Mackay at the Centre for Strategic Education, Melbourne.

Valerie was the Australian Learning Lecturer for 2020 on the subject of The Future School. The resulting book FutureSchool has just been published.  In 2021 she received the Edufuturists’ award for Outstanding Achievement in Education.
