Message from the Branch President, Aderyn Chatterton

27/06/2022

The Northern Territory branch of ACEL would like to acknowledge and thank our school leaders, teachers and school staff who have continued to provide outstanding leadership, innovation and support for their staff, students and colleagues.

We were fortunate to attend a recent networking event in the Darwin region. An assistant principal network is in its early stages of formation, driven by two assistant principals who know the value of sharing practice, developing professional networks and prioritising the time to connect across schools and phases of learning. Great work occurs in Territory schools everyday and it is important we continue to amplify and celebrate the inspiring and dedicated leaders in our schools. Two of our branch executives attended the network meeting to highlight the outstanding benefits that come from being a member of ACEL – access to quality professional learning, research and evidence, the Leaders Lounge and many other professional resources. Jo Glennon, the Principal of Nightcliff Primary School, highlighted the role her ACEL membership has played in supporting her own leadership journey while also acknowledging the mentors and colleagues who have guided and supported her along the way. Jo as a Principal, continues to invest in supporting future and aspirant leaders and is generous in mentoring across schools.

Stay tuned for an eventful Term 3 as we finalise dates for the Northern Territory ACEL awards evening, a networking event with Tracey Ezard and a future event with our Catholic School colleagues.

Have a wonderful school holidays, we hope you take the time to rest, reflect on all of your amazing achievements and recharge for another school term.
