Welcome to the VIC Branch of ACEL.
The Australian Council of Educational Leaders (ACEL) is the peak educational leadership organisation in Australasia and plays a significant role in shaping practice and professional growth.
We proudly recognise the achievements of educational leaders at all stages of their leadership journey, and actively promote ways to connect leaders across all sectors and levels of education in Victoria.
Our Victorian Patron is Dr Brian Caldwell who has a long history of support to ACEL at both the state and national level. Brian was amongst the notable early architects of ACEL in 1973. The educational leadership landscape looked quite different then and we unashamedly celebrate our organisation’s contribution to creating what educational leadership has become in contemporary Australia.
Brian’s contribution is recognised and celebrated through the annual Brian Caldwell Research Award and the Patron’s Oration.
The Victorian Branch Executive is committed to the ACEL Mission, Guiding Principles and Goals, which are reflected in our Annual Implementation Plan. Our provocative and informative seminars and events foster the professionalism of leaders and encourage sharing of latest research, best practice and innovative ideas.
Recognition of excellent is demonstrated through National and State Fellowships, scholarships, guest presentations and tertiary awards for excellence in educational leadership. The annual Awards Celebration evening is held in high esteem within the Victorian Educational community. This is an annual event with the presentation of the ‘Hedley Beare Educational Leader of the Year’ being a special highlight.
We are confident that your experience with ACEL will be rewarding and beneficial to you as an educational leader. Membership will add value and credibility to your leadership journey no matter what stage.
As member voice is important to us, we encourage your active involvement in the wide variety of opportunities provided by ACEL and look forward to your participation.
