Summit 2015: Disability Reform

Summit 2015: Disability Reform
Disability Reform: Leading and Sustaining Exceptional Practice

Supporting all learners, including those impacted by disability, is a shared responsibility. Leading this support involves mobilising all resources to overcome barriers to maximise educational outcomes for every student.

The 2015 Summit provides school leaders with access to experts in innovation, research and best practice in education that ensures that all learners, including those students impacted by disability, become integral members of the learning community. Participation in this event will provide school leaders with opportunities that will challenge and affirm their ability to promote and sustain exceptional practice that enables all students to access and participate in education on the same basis as their peers.

In order to lead and support exceptional practice, school leaders require the ability to:

  • Recognise and promote quality in the learning experiences provided;
  • Measure and improve teacher capability in identifying and supporting learning;
  • Build and sustain positive relationships that connect students and their families with a range of services at the school and in the community.
