Speaker: Peter W. Hill

One of the world's leading experts on leadership and learning has accepted an invitation to deliver the Patron's Oration 2018 for ACEL (Victoria). This is a rare opportunity for policymakers and practitioners to hear from Peter W. Hill whose appointments on four continents include Director of Research and Development at the National Centre on Education and the Economy in Washington DC, Secretary General of the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, and Chief Executive of the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority. He served most recently as Education Director of Nord Anglia Education in England. Prior to these appointments, Peter was the Foundation Professor of Leadership and Management at the University of Melbourne and before that Chief General Manager of the Department of School Education in Victoria. He has co-authored with eminent policymakers and scholars including Sir Michael Barber in A Renaissance in Assessment, and the award-winning classroom-focused Breakthrough with Michael Fullan and Carmel Crévola.
