QLD Early Childhood Network: Perceptual Motor Program

QLD Early Childhood Network: Perceptual Motor Program

Sally Hannah graduated from UQ with a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies (Education) and has been working with motor development as both an Exercise Physiologist and HPE Teacher for the last 30 years. With the increasing number of students presenting to Prep and Year 1 with motor development challenges, Sally has worked alongside with the Human Movement Department at the University of Queensland to produce and create motor programs which promote motor development and classroom learning readiness. Sally is writing several papers as part of her ethical proposal to begin her PhD in 2017.

Come to this session and find out why fundamental movement programs are an essential element to preparing Preparatory children for classroom learning.

You will further your understanding of gross motor skill development and how direct instruction and practice can effect academic outcomes.
