These symposiums are a new addition to the conference program. In these sessions, facilitators will introduce the theme and summarise key research and best practice in each area. Speakers will then present for 10 minutes in their area of expertise, and answer questions from the facilitator and floor. This is a great opportunity to hear from experts in research or practice at the school, system or class level, and take part in in-depth discussion around the conference's theme of Vision and Voice.

ACEL are thrilled to welcome one of Australia’s leading media personalities Ed Kavalee as official Master of Ceremonies for the 34th Annual National Awards Gala Dinner Ceremony on October 3rd 2019.

Known for his lightning fast comedy and improvisation skills, Ed has worked extensively in Australian television and radio for over a decade. In addition to appearing as a regular member of Network 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention, Ed joined the HIT Network’s 2Day FM breakfast show in 2018 Breakfast with Grant, Ed & Ash. The past few years, Ed has been an integral member of The Grill Team at MMM in Brisbane. Previously a part of the on air team for NOVA 100’s Hughesy & Kate Breakfast Show, Ed also broadcast for NOVA; The Wrong Way Home with Akmal, Cal and Ed. Prior to this he teamed with Tony Martin on the hit radio show Get This, for Triple M.
