Deborah Dunstone has been Assistant Director-General, State Schools - Disability and Inclusion in the Department of Education since 2017, when she took on the challenge of leading the whole-of-agency response to the Queensland Disability Review.

Across a long and successful career as a Secondary Principal, Assistant Regional Director, and Regional Director, Deb’s passion for inclusive practice has always been evident. Deb is well known for her capacity to inspire and challenge leadership teams to develop the vision of a system where every student belongs to their school community, engages purposefully in learning and experiences success.

ACEL 2020 NATIONAL DISABILITY & INCLUSION CONFERENCE
30th April - 1st May 2020, Brisbane

The 2020 Disability & Inclusion Conference is proudly presented by The Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) in partnership with the Department of Education, Queensland. 

Featuring experts and leading practitioners in the field of disability and inclusion, the two day conference will focus on the ways in which educators can ensure that all students access and engage in learning.

Presentations will  explore how system leaders, school leaders and teachers can work together to ensure schools are:

  • inclusive environments
  • how students with disability can contribute to their own learning
  • how schools can work effectively with parents, families and the wider community to ensure they are involved in their child’s education.

The Disability & Inclusion Conference offers educational leaders the opportunity to engage with experts and peers and continue the conversation around disability and inclusion so that every student can achieve success.
