Tasmanian Educational Leaders recognized

6 November 2014

The Australian Council for Educational Leaders - Tasmanian Branch will recognize excellence in educational leadership at an award ceremony in Launceston at the University of Tasmania, Newnham Campus on 7 November at 7pm. Present at the awards will be Neil Cranston, recipient of the Hedley Beare award for Educational Writing and Trish Hindmarsh, Tasmanian Eminent Educator of the year- 2014.

“Improved educational outcomes will result from an investment in the people doing the work in schools and in the community- the teachers and leaders in Tasmania.

This award ceremony allows the ACEL, Tasmanian Branch to affirm and acknowlege the great work being done in Tasmanian schools and universities.” said Anne Foale, President of the ACEL Tasmanian Branch.

“As a peak education body, it is important that ACEL recognizes those members that are working and guiding learning organisations towards improving educational outcomes for staff, students and the wider community.

“ACEL takes very seriously the responsibility of honouring those who display a true commitment to excellence in the field of educational leadership,” said Peter Hayes, Director of Education, ACEL National Office.

Awardees are recognized by their peers as forward-thinking, relevant and responsive agents of change and innovation in education in Australia.

Awardees are nominated by ACEL Members and go through a rigorous review process by our awards committee.
