SA Branch

Welcome to the SA Branch of ACEL.

It was great to catch-up with all the South Australian's who attended the ACEL Annual Conference in Melbourne during the October Holidays. This was a wonderful time to network and reflect on how we can improve our focus on improving the educational outcomes for the Young People in South Australia and build capacity of our sites.

Term 4 is a busy time for everyone and I know your focus is on getting everything finalised for the year and planning for 2019. On Wednesday 7th November our Term 4 Hot Topic facilitated by Kathy Stringer provided strategies for school leaders to help develop the cultural capacity of their staff and students.

As part of the ACEL national tour on the 27th & 28th November, John Hattie will be visiting Adelaide and he will facilitate a Visible Learning Symposium. There is still time to register for this event.

During this term the branch executive are investigating our Hot Topics for 2019 and some of the areas we are interested in investigating further are:

  • Show Case our 2018 Award winners by accessing their sites for a show and tell opportunity
  • Launching our 2019 State Awards and nominations can be submitted early January 2019
  • Breakfast with the Minister
  • Leader wellbeing
  • Building Leadership capacity

If you're interested in being involved in facilitating one of these events or would like to suggest alternatives, please email me: warren.symonds138@schools.sa.edu.au or Rob Sieben: rsieben@hartley.edu.au

Yours Sincerely,
Warren Symonds
ACEL SA Branch President
