Scott Dirix is the Senior Leader of Alternative Programs at Salisbury East High School. He was the winner of the Department of Education 2017 Innovation in Practice Award in South Australia while his program, Salisbury East Alternative Programs (SEAL), won the ACEL Educational Leadership Award in South Australia in 2019. Scott was raised in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide and has worked intensively, and extensively, with marginalised youth to grant them the same quality educational experiences and relationships he was blessed with. Scott has collaborated with various sites and department officials in both South Australia and Tasmania to develop more effective in-school alternative learning programs. In 2018, he was a guest of the Peter Underwood Centre at the University of Tasmania, where he delivered an interactive workshop titled "Alternative Actions to Education" and has also been published in the Peter Underwood Centre's Education Transforms blog.
