After working at and completing his studies at the University of Newcastle, Murray moved to England to begin his education journey. Upon his return to Australia, he moved to Tasmania and undertook a range of leadership opportunities, including an Assistant Principal role leading teaching and learning. During his time in Tasmania, Murray also taught at an English language camp at Tsinghua University in Beijing, undertook a study tour of the education system in the Republic of Korea and presented an evidence-based model of professional learning at the 2017 ACER Research Conference. Murray has been Head of Curriculum and Pedagogy at Scoresby Secondary College, Victoria, since 2018. Here, he has developed a keen interest in the role of students in teacher learning. While undertaking a Masters of Instructional Leadership at the University of Melbourne, Murray developed a model to support teachers and students to work collaboratively to reflect on and improve instructional practice. The findings of his studies were presented at the 2018 ACEL National Conference, and published in Connect, a student voice practice journal.
