Bio
Holly Telford is the Family Educator at Lajamanu School, a remote school in the Tanami Desert. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree and has been teaching for four years in a mix of remote and urban schools. In the last 18 months, Holly has been working in the Family as First Teacher (FaFT) Program at Lajamanu School. This is a family support program for remote Indigenous families with children prior to starting school. Through her program, she has built strong relationships with parents, the community and liaised with supporting agencies, to give children aged 0-3 the best possible start in life. Holly is passionate about developing an innovative program, inclusive of cultural practices and language, whilst being flexible to the needs of the community. In the past year, Holly has been involved in the iHearing User Group Project and was nominated as a lead coach for an early years developmental screening tool, ASQ-TRAK, due to here innovative approach to coaching and her ability to communicate with influence to her colleagues. Holly is honored and excited for the opportunity to learn and grow as a young leader in education.
