Bio
Kirk Zwangobani is an executive teacher and early career researcher. Professionally he has straddled a diversity of roles in teaching, school leadership and educational policy, with a particular focus on student engagement.

Kirk has led projects and forums in ACT education, and more broadly, to foster participation by young people in social and education policy setting. Kirk’s research profile, in the intersection of social and educational issues and policy, includes conference papers/seminars and publishing proceedings, as well as consulting with not-for-profit research companies (Aust21), government (local and commonwealth), and cultural and community organisations on social and policy concerns.

Kirk’s recently completed PhD research anticipated and addressed the impact of complex socio-cultural and political issues, such as multiculturalism and migration, on young people’s engagement with their education and community. Further, he analyses the impact of emerging and current social issues, such as gender-equity, racism, and most recently radicalisation, on young people and social cohesion. One of Kirk's educational leadership research aims, pivots around developing approaches that improve social and educational outcomes for youth.
