Haydon is a current member of the Indigenous Curriculum Advisory Network which work collaboratively to provide advice and feedback from a cultural perspective on Indigenous Studies Modules and incorporating indigenous perspectives into the curriculum. He is also a part of the Future Leaders Network (FLN) which explores and provides recommendations to significant challenges identified by Chief Executives. A recent focus of Haydon’s has been indigenous representation in senior government positions and strategies to shift the existing pool of AO3/ AO4 into SOA1 and above positions.

In 2015 Haydon was awarded the Northern Territory’s Young Achievers Indigenous Educator’s award.
