Engaging the Team:
The Key to Executing an Innovation Strategy

As society has changed, there is growing agreement that education must evolve in order to create students with the knowledge and skills needed for future workplaces and communities. Against this backdrop many schools have focused on introducing new innovations in their curriculum, ranging from the use of technology to the utilization of new pedagogies. However, even if schools identify new innovations, the execution of any innovation strategy requires committed teachers and administrators who are willing to try new things and are comfortable taking risks. These behaviours are only possible if a school has a highly engaged team.

WORKSHOP FOCUS
In this workshop, participants will examine the key behaviours and practices school leaders can implement to enhance team engagement and increase the success of an innovation strategy. Participants will gain an understanding of why team retention should be framed as a strategic issue for a school. Participants will be exposed to a framework that both diagnoses the causes of low team engagement and performance and identifies a set of prescriptive approaches for correcting these issues.

The one day program will focus on the following issues:

  • The relationship between team engagement and school performance
  • Effective drivers of team engagement
  • Enhancing engagement across a diverse team
  • The use of non-financial tools to enhance team engagement
